Terms of Service

Effective date: July 4, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of My Equipment Log — the website at myequipmentlog.com (the "Site") and, when available, our mobile and web applications (together, the "Service"), operated by Rentfrow Web Solutions, LLC, doing business as My Equipment Log ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. The Service

My Equipment Log helps you track equipment and maintenance — recording your machines, logging service, setting reminders, and asking questions with the help of Ace, our AI assistant. Parts of the Service are still in development; features described on the Site (including pricing) may change before or after launch.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to purchase a subscription. If you use the Service on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business to these Terms.

3. Your account

When accounts become available, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at legal@myequipmentlog.com if you suspect unauthorized access. You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.

4. Subscriptions and billing

  • The Service offers a free plan and paid plans. Current pricing is shown on our pricing page and may change with notice.
  • Purchases made through the Apple App Store are billed and managed by Apple under Apple's terms. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled; cancel anytime through your App Store account settings, effective at the end of the current billing period.
  • If we change the price of a plan you're subscribed to, we'll notify you before the change applies to you.
  • Except where required by law or by the applicable app store's policies, payments are non-refundable.
  • If you downgrade or your subscription ends, features and limits of the free plan will apply, but we won't delete your existing records just because you downgraded.

5. Your content

The equipment records, photos, documents, and other content you add to the Service ("Your Content") belong to you. You grant us a limited license to host, store, process, back up, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you — including processing it with our AI provider when you use Ace. You are responsible for Your Content and must have the right to upload it. You can export or delete Your Content, and this license ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service (excluding routine backups, which expire on their own schedule).

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Break the law or infringe anyone's rights while using the Service
  • Upload malicious code or attempt to probe, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' data
  • Scrape, resell, or copy the Service or use it to build a competing product
  • Abuse Ace or the Service in ways that impose unreasonable load, or use automated means to send spam or bulk requests
  • Misrepresent who you are or impersonate others

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

7. AI assistant (Ace)

Ace generates responses using artificial intelligence, and AI makes mistakes. Ace's output is provided for general informational purposes only — it is not professional mechanical, safety, legal, or warranty advice. Maintenance schedules, procedures, torque specs, fluids, and similar details should always be verified against your equipment manufacturer's documentation or a qualified professional before you rely on them. You are responsible for decisions you make based on Ace's output.

8. The Service is a record-keeping tool

My Equipment Log helps you organize and remember maintenance — it does not perform maintenance, guarantee that reminders will be delivered or seen, or substitute for manufacturer-required service schedules. You remain solely responsible for maintaining your equipment safely and on time.

9. Our intellectual property

The Service — including its software, design, logos, and content we create — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms don't grant you any rights to it except the right to use the Service as intended.

10. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service — in which case we will make reasonable efforts to give you notice and a chance to export Your Content. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including sections 5 and 11–13) survive.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DATA (INCLUDING REMINDERS) WILL NEVER BE LOST OR DELAYED. KEEP YOUR OWN COPIES OF DOCUMENTS THAT MATTER.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR EQUIPMENT DAMAGE, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF $50 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THESE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of Your Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right in connection with your use of the Service.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Michigan, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in the app. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
